This was when mana acceleration started to normally mean giving up your second turn to make your third really kick-ass, a tradition that continues to this day. However, the Diamonds have proven to be one of the less tournament-viable ways of doing this; most other means of achieving this goal also do something else for you, such as block or sacrifice themselves for an extra card.

Decent, but Coldsteel Heart renders it obsolete in many formats. That said, can we please have a reprint of this cycle in M15 instead of the usual lucky charm junk?
