Infinite Elves Combo! Just pop this out with two Grim Poppets, put one of their counters on some poor creature, then have them continually trade counters with each other off into infinity!

Black Sun's Zenith
Carnifex Demon

Yes, I think I'll be fine with wiping the board and generating a huge army of 1/1 Elves in the process.

Blowfly Infestation gives you infinite ETB and creature death.

Add a second Blowfly Infestation and you get infinite -1/-1 counters, plus you can replace any number of creatures with tokens of yours.

Add a second Flourishing Defenses and you get infinite tokens. (Even without a second Blowfly Infestation.)

back when wither was largly RB, it was designed to be a defense against it, but in B/G infect, it's a little more practical

Yeah, entering the battlefield with a counter counts as 'placing' it. So you could combo this with persist creatures, or Noxious Hatchlling, or any of the other cards Kidrik mentioned. Problem is, Wizards made this cost 5, which is very balanced- it takes a long time to get it on the field.

Yet another card that comboes with Devoted Druid and Quillspike

It may be little slow, but with this and Everlasting Torment out, you can be hard to dislodge.

What the heck? Why is this card rated so low? In a Green/Black Wither deck this card is your first commandment. Your others are Devoted Druid, Necroskitter, Everlasting Torment, Blowfly Infestation, Noxious Hatchling, and Power Conduit.

Does a creature entering the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it count as "placing" it on a creature?

Too complicated, not a big fan.
