I guess that the enchanted creature doesn't summon Gond himself. I think this aura represents his charisma or something so that it's easy for the enchanted creature to mobilize allied elves. That's the flavor.
And about the card: I think it's a cool card on it's own but in shadowmoor-eventide-block there are cards with the untap-symbol or something like the aforementioned Nettle Sentinel which untap whenever a spell of the specific color is played.

Tell that to Rhys the Redeemed.

Provided you aren't going for an infinite, I would probably put it on Silhana Ledgewalker, as this aura will make the creature an instant target. She is an elf, so you are potentially running her in an elf deck, and she has troll shroud. Tap her behind and get some elf kids.

The Druid/Coat combo does produce infinite Elves.
As long as the Coat is in play, it's bonus does neutralize the -1/-1 counters. It just doesn't remove them.

Larbness, you are wrong, putting a token into play is not a green spell it is a green ability. NO INFINITE TOKENS FOR YOU
touchdown, Coat of Arms does not give plus counters to it does not neutralize the minus one minus one counters.
