The original old-skool combo was Ball Lightning + Blood Lust + Berserk. It was even restricted once because having two Berserks was considered overpowered. This card is definately still a hit... I wish I had a set :(

One of the best green spells in the game, berserk also belongs to the reduced group of green straight removal spells, due to it being able to be played on your opponent's creatures. Notice that back in the day, green also had plenty of fog effects that would prevent the damage that creature would deal to you.
The best feature of Berserk is that it becomes even better when you chain multiple copies of it, and one of the reasons of it being so expensive (the others being its scarce print run, and recent unrestriction). Even though it's hard to afford, much cheaper alternatives exist at common rarities like fling or rite of consumption, that work almost as well as the original.

Maybe we should be glad that From The Vault: Exiled is as rare as it is, or all the little kids' casual green decks would now have 4 Berserk?
