How would this card differ it the player got to choose the first card to be discarded then randomly discard the second??

Little worse than Hymn to Tourach but still solid discard.

The random discard would have a better chance at your good cards, since if you choose first, then you choose the card you want least. Then the random choice has a pick and since the choice is narrower. I think that's how it would be anyway.

It's not too much different.
