I have a Reanimator Combo deck with this for stop my opponent. How? Simply:
Put Kederekt Leviathan in your graveyard. Than cast Animate Dead or Dance of the Dead on it.
When the leviathan enters the battlefield returns all non-land permanents to its owners hand, including the Animate Dead. Then the kederekt Leviathan dies.

You can do this infinitely and stop your opponent until you draw what you want. Remember that your opponent can exile it with some instant spell like Path to Exile in response to the leviathan's ability before he dies.. But well, there's no problem for your Duress ;)

The Mimeoplasm EDH loves this card. Mill yourself with stuff like Mirror-Mad Phantasm and Traumatize and reanimate Mimeoplasm as a copy of this, with +1/+1 counters from Mortivore or Lord of Extinction. If you're extra lucky you might even have milled Wonder or Brawn :P

I for one like it. I like the art and idea behind it, as well as its ability- Grixis needs more genuinely blue items like this.

Where are its eyes, I wonder?

weird combo: oblivion ring on this guy. Then Obvlion ring the first oblivion ring.


I guess animate dead is a bit more efficient, but not standard legal, if that matters.

I like the guy, but I wish it had cooler art/alt art. Right now it just looks like an Island during a storm, not a monsterous sea beast. For all we know, it could just be a grey iceburg. Even if it's going for the whole "dark and mysterious sea demon" approach, the card art should at least show a bit more neck; how do we even know what part of it we're looking at?

I think this plus Extractor Demon is a Great play. Because Extractor doesn't say to the graveyard. So your opponent will end up Milling for each creature bounced back into everyone's hands.
