Ah, Scavenger Drake... I've been hanging onto a set of these since they were released hoping for a good opportunity to use them in a set that would utilize some of their potential.
I love the mechanic and flavor of this guy, but seeing as Drakes have little to no support as a tribal archetype, his use is greatly hindered. You'd think in a block dominated by Dragons, Wizards would have made him a Dragon and then he would have fit PERFECTLY in any Jund Dragon/Devour deck. The mana cost is just a bit steep for a measley 1/1 flyer. would have been a much more playable price.
Wizards, I propose that you begin making better Drake cards to help out the tribe, and so many cards like Scavenger Drake here would finally become useful in constructed.

Playable, although I prefer Rockslide Elemental. It may not be evasive, but first strike lets him turn chump blocks into profit. Also, the whole mini-cycle, Algae Gharial included, get stupid huge in an Eldrazi Spawn deck.

I put this guy in with some vampire aristocrats, Fallen angels and that 1/1 vamp girl who does the same job as the aristocrats (Cant think of her name of the top of my head), next insert an ample amount of raise dead type or return to the battlefield from graveyard type spells and voila .... very big scavenger drakes in short order with a recycle effect going on with the critters. Nothing I would try in tournament but fun as heck to frustrate folks with outside of tournaments lol.

I owe this card for 86th place in a Grand Prix. In limited, he can rule through graveyard interaction. He works really well when nearby creatures have Devour, or when trading Goblin Deathraiders in combat with your opponent. His flying can give him a hit every turn, or he just sit and look pretty as a blocker after gaining some counters.
Playable, as are Algae Gharial and the rest of the cycle.

In Jund or Grixis you should have huge amounts of creatures hitting the graveyard. Scavenger Drake can get huge after only a few turns with Devour, sacrificing, whatever.
