I really think Wizards tended to overestimate the power of landwalk abilities in the early days of the game. I mean, can you even name a relevant, recent card that has landwalk these days?

@Lord_Ascapelion
Forestwalk was never really relevant because there was no way to ensure your opponent had a forest, but this card represents what they were afraid of, that is BIG creatures with landwalk.
Mountainwalk suffered the same problem.
Swampwalk was the best one because of Evil Presence, you could actually ensure your strategy would have a chance.
Later on, Islandwalk became relevant with things like Lingering Mirage, Sea's Claim and Spreading Seas.
Poor Plainswalk is still only on five creatures.
But!
Cards like Wrexial, the Risen Deep, Stormtide Leviathan, Sheoldred, Whispering One, and Inkwell Leviathan are proof that the landwalks are still alive and well.

Andrew's Occasional Random Card of the Day #18 - 7/15/2011 - Scarwood Hag

Man The Dark is awesome. I wish I could have played back then so that I could have used cards like this and not felt like I was slitting my own wrists by doing so. I mean . . . it's so awful but looks so awesome. And yes, I like playing with bad cards. It's just hard to stoop this low and still expect to compete!

What a toolbox! She can give or remove forestwalk! Can you imagine her with an Instill Energy in a mono green mirror match? Format breaker.

Also, look how happy she is about skinny dipping in the swamp.

Why? I mean, honestly, the awesome art and potential for flavor. And a 1/1 that gives and removes forestwalk? This isn't fun for anybody...

Wow. There seems to be a sub-theme in The Dark of stupid-high activation costs. This thing, Rang Man, Niall Sylvan (or whatever his name is), Brothers of Fire, and so on. Yuck. That being said, while this thing is useless, there was a card that could give forests to opponents - Gaea's Liege. So... I guess that could lead to a really slow way to kill an opponent?!

Land walk is a very powerfull ability, but only if you have a lord or another card like it that grants in in mass. Removeing it from one creature will not help you much at all.

And i doubt i need to say how horible it is at giveing it.
