Flavorful to the core, gamebreaking when used in the right deck, a deck-enabler in essence, this card has everything you want from a card.

Don't forget that Dragonstorm was one of the best deck during Time Spiral-legal Standard, powered by mana-gainers like Rite of Flame, Seething Song and Lotus Bloom, cheap library manipulation ala Telling Time (love this card!), Sleight of Hand, and Mishra's Bauble, and dirty tricks like Gigadrowse. It was really one hell of a deck!

@darkfury: I'm sorry to say, but it says put into play, and not cast. Therefore, you would only get a total of 11 dragons (sad, I know), and you could only grab 4 Bogardan Hellkites, 4 Kokusho, the Evening Stars, 3 Broodmate Dragons, and a partridge in a pear tree, thereby dealing 40 damage to an opponent, getting 11 dragons out, and, just for kicks, throwing a tree at them. Hell, with the pounding they'd get, they might not even notice the pretty little bird. Ungrateful bastards.

Aaron’s Random Card Comment of the Day #12, 10/12/10

Twelve days into Random Card Comments, and the closest I’ve come to a top-tier constructed card was Merfolk of the Pearl Trident… that is, until this little number.

The first time Dragonstorm appeared was in the Scourge set, which it essentially epitomized all by itself. After all, the two big talking points of that set were Dragons and the storm mechanic, and this card neatly combines the two. (It actually epitomizes its designer, Brian Tinsman, as well. Brian is a fan of boundary-pushing mechanics and giant monsters.) When considering which storm card to reprint in the timeshifted set of Time Spiral, Dragonstorm was the natural choice, both because it was such a poster child for Scourge and because it was one of the few storm cards that hadn’t been broken in half yet. A few good “rituals” and one Bogardan Hellkite later (also a Tinsman design), and what do ... (see all)

Play this with Artificial Evolution. Replace 'Dragon' with 'Leviathan'.

Oh yes...

oh god, how on earth are you going to have 9 mana and still have enough mana to cast a whole bunch of spells to get the storm to work? If you use this card, you deck will be based on it for sure, but where do you balance between your dragons and your cheep spells and your mana axel?

Rebound will trigger storm. For instance, World at War's rebound will give you a storm trigger. Pretty slick.
