I have never ever ever been unhappy about giving them some life with swords, usually its from 3 to 5 no big deal.
I am always unhappy with giving them an extra land, especially early in the game.
Them gaining life never killed me, them getting land very well could. That being said, I still run 4 in all my white decks now so I can't complain too much.

White keeps getting these 1 casting cost spot removals that have no targeting restrictions and often times do worse then "destroy" (exile/bottom of library).
Meanwhile black has what? Doomblade is the best? 2 casting cost, non-black targeting, and destroy?
I don't understand the color wheel anymore.
5/5 for power... but seriously, they shouldn't make these.

Swords to Plowshares is one of the greatest white removals of all time, but Path is for sure the first runner up.
With Path, Oblivion Ring, and Journey to Nowhere a solid white deck can finally give a little back to all those black and blue decks that removes creatures.

Sure to be a staple for many years! Excellent, and I like the decisions it creates.

Maybe it's just my generation, but I don't like white getting efficient removal that isn't enchantment-based or combat-based.
Exiling creatures rather than damaging or destroying them is also highly relevant.
Regardless of all that, I like how it makes basic lands relevant.

Just remember it's not why you would play this but when.

Awesome card, could be game changing. Unearthing is out of the question, as this card removes its target from play. If this card were drawn during a middle of a game versus a blue deck, it could be devastating; depending on the creatures in play.
Highly useful.

I'd rather give my opponent life (swords to plowshares) than give them an extra land (this card).
