Just once, before I die, I want to say "I equip Batterskull to Shatterskull."

Better than Hill Giants if you are running mono-red.

I thought Hill Giant stopped being the "average" standard when Trained Armodon came out, but I guess green is supposed to have better creatures for the same cost. This is just a functional reprint of Lowland Giant. It still follows the Hill Giant formula because it's 2RR instead of 3R in exchange for an additional 1 power.

I really like this card. Your red draft deck needs it. Your red draft deck in M11 will need it. Reprint it!

Disturbing name though. I get a minor headache every time I read it.

This is what I want to see in vanilla creatures. When 2/2-for-two cards have been repeatedly obsoleted(and at common, no less), it's almost become a necessity to slightly boost power and/or toughness for NOT having an ability. Yes, it's nice to be able to compare a card to Grizzly Bears to determine how good it is (ie. "Oh, it's a Hill Giant with flash" or "Grizzly Bears with a top hat"), but usually the value of a card is obvious from the get-go. Even if Air Elemental didn't exist to compare Diijn of Wishes to, the Diijn would still be a good card.

So this? Perfect. Now, doing it rarely on the one-mana side is probably for the best- I'm looking at you, Savannah Lions. But since most creatures are abilitied-up anyway, it's not so much of a problem if it starts showing up in the lower cost range.

Can we start reprinting these so I don't have to see Hill Giant's ugly mug ever again?

A very playable creature in limited.
Besides that, very cool art and name.

But above all else, this creature intrigues me, as it seems to indicate that there are two different varieties of giant on Zendikar; these guys, and the lizard like Hurda (Caravan Hurda, Battle Hurda).
