He's a +1/+1 pump for your side of the field that sticks around afterward. He'd be much better with Flash, or Haste, or make the boost permanent as long as he's equipped, but as is he's a decent 3/5.

this card would be much more significant if it had flash, allowing you to play it on defense

He's an interesting reverse-exalted card. Play him on turn four, attack with 2-3 cheap exalting creatures for a small pile of damage. Then, attack with HIM, boosted by the remaining exalters. It could be worse.

The obvious use of this card.. is not exalted at all.. its tokens. You play this card on turn 4 and your 1/1 saprolings all go 2/2 or higher and you beat down with them. The problem with it actually rests in that it is at the same mana cost as wiltleaf liege and knight of new alara.. both of which give permanent 2/2 as long as it stays in play, and are essentially better cards.

For everyone screaming that he needs flash, he is a common. If he was an uncommon he would definitely get Flash. But you have to look at his stats, a 3/3 that boosts up the entire team. Also notice that he says all your creatures get +1/+1 he comes in as a 4/4. I see creative deck builders trying to give him Haste and Flash. Then you are getting quite the bargain for a 4/4.
