One of the few good cards from The Dark. Exile some weenies early on, and you've got a good source of colorless mana.

Current oracle wording eliminates the word "sacrifice" for no good reason. Other cards (Dragon Appeasement, Savra, Queen of the Golgari, & Furnace Celebration) do care if you sacrifice creatures, so this represents a functional change to the card akin to the power level errata of yesteryear that is anathema to modern policy.

I use this with Manipulation Chamber.
I block their attacks with their own creatures and exile them before EOT.

This card is absolutely a masterpiece of flavor (name, abilities, artwork).
With proliferate is really really amazing.
Nice combo with Chamber of Manipulation, but it costs discarding a card.
The exile clause prevents crazy combos with Nether Traitor, Endless ***roaches or similar, and is a drawback; however, the fact that counters remain on the land after use makes it powreful!

Wow... randomly traded for this today for my Maelstrom Wanderer EDH deck because I thought it looked cool. Just played my deck, and the ability to pop my general back to the command zone at will (and ramp while doing it is insane).
