i think that some of these cards are on the reserved list because wizards realizes they should never reprint cards that are this horrendous :D
PS: oran-rief, the vastwood puts this card to shame.

No, you can sac a tapped Forest when playing this land.
Is this card op like some other lands mentioned in the comments here? No. But this card offers something that many of the other lands don't - immediacy and flexibility. Other than a forest sac, this card has no prerequisites to the +1/+1 activation.
Additionally, this card works great with Threshold decks or any decks that rely on cards/lands in the gy. This is not nearly as bad as all of the comments here make it out to be.

It's pretty simple, really. When you play it, sacrifice a Forest. If you can't, Heart of Yavimaya goes straight to the graveyard and doesn't enter the battlefield at all. It's also not an optional ability, you can't play it and refuse to sac a Forest to drop it into your graveyard or something if you have a Forest out.
