Decent in EDH, could even be good if you have a weird deck that cares about exiled cards.

The demonstrably best way for your opponent to split (assuming he can figure out how much you value each of the 10 cards) is to put the best 5 cards in one pile and the worst 5 cards in the other. That way, you have a 1 in 2 chance of getting the best card of the 10 (this is unavoidable) but if you pick the wrong pile you'll only get the 6th best card.

But heh, this card is so obscure many opponents will automatically do the Fact or Fiction split in two piles of roughly equal value, giving you a much better deal.

Flavor, fun, an entire mind-warping mini-game between you and your opponent, all to draw a card for 3 colorless that you pick (presumably) out of an entire grouping. If you guess the right pile (or deduct it from your opponent's behavior), you might just get choices amongst several powerful cards from your deck. The art and the ability are both sweet, and the flavor of Phyrexia is rich with horrifying yet entriguing possibilities. This card is definitely in my Top 10 Cards of All Time. As an aside, a clever player who works with exiled cards a lot may stand to benefit even from the removed piles.

Needlessly complicated. Kind of random and a little fun.
They don;t make cards like these anymore.

This combined with Mirror of Fate could get you exactly what you need to finish the game.

I like this card for multiplayer and other slower formats. In a color that can't replenish it's hand otherwise (red and white), having an artifact that essentially reads "3: draw a card" is welcome. It's relatively cheap compared to so many similar cards: Jayemdae Tome, Book of Rass, Urza's Blueprints, Planar Portal, ect. Exiling a few cards from your library is completely irrelevant.

if you have an ally then this is one of the best cards in the game, because you can just ask them to tell you what all the cards are, and you have them make one pile with the card you want and just exile the 9 junk cards.

If you're up against this: Split them something like 7-3 and put the good cards in the 7. They'll usually take the 3.
