Red is the color of temporary creature stealing now, but what makes this more useful than Act of Treason is that it's an instant. If you're lucky, you can kill two of your opponent's creatures during his attack phase by making one block the other.

This is very in color, just because cards are printed in color doesn't make it "in color." I remember when I was new to magic red was described as the color of Fire, Earth, Lightning, Chaos, and Anger. Not sure where mind control fits into that. Act of Treason sounds black to me. This only fits into red as an all-or-nothing card, this kind of effect will usually swing a game, stealing something massive, or do little to nothing.

It has everything a blue control would want.
Instant? -Check
Control? -Check
Potentially lethal damage to the opponent with a mob that you don't even own? -Check

I love this card! The fact that it untaps and then re-taps the target is wonderful, as an opponent can be really caught off guard with one of his own creatures. Can be used to slaughter an attacker with one of his own, or as a devastating counter-attack.

My bro got Merit Lage out of Dark Depths. It's fun ending the game in one attack with their own critter :D

NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition. I love out-of-color cards for wrecking the other person's strategy in casual. Use cards like this or Fog once and watch casual opponents play around them for the next several weeks.
