This + Rancor in your opening hand is simple and effective. Plus, my opponents really hate loosing ground to something so unassuming and cute. Also, Golgari Germination nets a 2for1.

You can't devour it twice to one creature. You need to declare all the creatures you're devouring before they are devoured, and the token doesn't come into play until after.
