@CrowJonSnow: Emrakul's "Protection from colored spells" ability does not prevent anything in regards to creatures; therefore, it can still be blocked by Deadly Recluse and die. However, if a creature has protection from green, such as Progenitus, Deadly Recluse would be unable to block or inflict damage to that creature.

@ Zulp
It doesn't scare off Emrakul, because Emrakul has protection from colored spells. Ergo, it can't be blocked by colored creatures.
but, if you pump it up, they might have to decide between damage and losing a blocker, like Emrakul

So freaking amazing.
At the M10 release, this guy single-handedly held off my opponent's entire team for something like 8 turns.
Shivan Dragon and all.

They probably didn't print this in M11 because they printed Plummet.
Granted, Plummet is a solid card, but this has a lot more green flavor to it and would have interacted well with some of the stuff in Standard. Genesis Wave puts this into play, for example, and Green Sun's Zenith can fetch it if you really need to.
It's also an excellent rattlesnake card for multiplayer. If you have the choice of throwing a dragon at a board that has one of these or a board that doesn't, which are you going to pick?
