@Fanuts:
Tapping a creature as part of an effect (rather than as part of a cost, such as "{T}:", or "Tap two creatures:") simply means that you should change that creature's status to "tapped". If it's already tapped, it's status remains the same, but that doesn't mean that nothing happened.

The first part of Sleep reads "Tap all creatures target player controls." This effect changes the status of all creatures target player controls to "tapped", regardless of their current status. The next part reads "Those creatures don't untap during during that player's untap step." The phrase that refers to "those creatures" refers to "all creatures the targeted player controls", not just the creatures that were already untapped when Sleep was cast.

For reference, I've looked at some rulings from Crystal Keep for similar effects. The ruling for Deadshot reads "Deadshot can target a creature which is already tapped as its first target, and it will still damage t... (see all)

@jokergius:
I'm sorry, I couldn't get past the first four words, the combination of "'ello loves" and "quicky query" nearly knocked me out.

Back to the card, i find it very helpful. Especially when the opponent has a lot of creatures, you can get a nice round of attacking without being blocked, and since the creatures don't untap, you don't need to worry about blocking. I use it as much for offence as I do defence.

No - I'll go ahead and Alpha Strike without taking damage next turn. And then do it again.

Blue's Overrun?

I couldn't agree more.

Sadly...one of the few decent blue cards in 2010

@Ace_Rimmer, this would not work as double fog. being sorcery speed, it will tap down, and they won't untap for a single turn, meaning it is like a single fog (or prevents pesky activated abilities as well). more useful as an end game spell. gives you 2 turns to attack through, unless they play a blocker the second time around. Very useful.

Witness the Blue Overrun. Makes UW Tokens, or lark, or anything that can even think about attacking get through, twice. And its showing up in decks for the defensive side too, oh you dont get to attack me next turn, and the turn after that. Double Fog, or Overrun?

and in limited? This card is AMAZING, at the release i was blessed, got two of them and some Cudgel Trolls, yeah, won that event.

Very useful card overall and when combined with Fatestitcher AND Royal Asasin could just destroy opponents creatures...

This card is so good that it makes the blue cards in 2010 worth looking at in limited.
