The beefier cousin to the Mesa Pegasus, which gives up banding for the increase in power.
Better than Dusk Imp for Black.

Why, pray tell, does it cost more for black to bring a 2/1 bat into play than it does for white to put a 2/1 flying horse into play? The Kelinore Bat costs 2B while this costs 1W, both having flying, but I guess not all 2/1 flyers are equal?
Edit: Tahazzar, yeah, the most common kind of black cards you see are grounded zombies, but you also have to take into account the flying demons and vampires of old, as well as various bats along the years. And with fear removed from every black card in the set, and only one card left having something remotely similar, black really has no sort of evasion left to it to make it viable. White has flying and defense. Blue has flight and unblockable. Green has trample and big creatures. Red has trample, and to an extent, haste. Black really has little in terms of getting hits through other than removing the opposition, and that wastes card advantage.
