Like all of the duel lands, this has very good art--while Sunpetal Grove probably has my favorite art for this set of duel lands (probably because of the colors I play), this captures the mystery and foreboding that a Black/Blue land would have perfectly. Looking at the art you can almost feel the dampness in the air and hear the echoes of the water dripping against the cavern floor (or is it the echoes of the spirits trapped there??). Just brilliant at capturing the feel of the location.

Game play wise, this is a very useful card. In a Black/Blue deck it can be played untapped as early as turn two (and having a tapped land on turn one generally isn't that bad anyway). In decks with a lot of non-basic lands it's perhaps not as useful, but nonetheless it's a land that produces multiple colors of mana, and without any side-effects except coming into play tapped. I really hope to see duel lands of this sort in other color combinations (although it's understan... (see all)

In My black and blue draw pain deck, I always find myself saying, hey, I wish I had less blue/black mana at this time and more of the other...dual lands to the rescue! Throw in some tera's for good measure and to make sure these don't come into play tapped. This card has no draw backs other than it slows down if you have no other basic land if your hand, in a dual color deck, shouldn't be a problem.

I really like this card when I need that black mana (I'm playing mostly blue with some black). Very useful in many conditions. Traded a Celestial Mantle for this one.

Excellent card, of course. Personally, I prefer Sunken Ruins in a U/B deck, however, because of its ability to convert mana from one of the two land types into the other.

I'm very glad that they finally made lands to compete with the original dual lands. I've always hated the "pain lands" introduced by Ice Age and thought that there should be less of a disadvantage to playing lands that can produce more than 1 color mana. I think this cycle is probably the best. 4.5/5

This cycle of dual lands is amazing. In a two or three color deck, you can get the dual land with no extra cost or penalty after turn one. The fact that they are a rare, however, makes them prohibitively expensive.
