i wonder if this card is a sign of whats to come. i really would love more large Octopus mythics for blue, i mean they are fairly flavorful, and are interesting. also, the recent quest makes this card rock.

First time I bough Zendikar, I got him. I'm not a blue type of guy, so I didn't use him until I created a sunburst power deck. He's weak compared to Darksteel Colossus and Progenitus, but in practical use, he's more powerful than either of them.

you can get him out turn 4 with a nifty mana combo
1st turn forest + ammy of vigor
2nd turn island khalni heart expedition
3rd turn forest + harrow, sac the forest
search for an island and a forest with harrow
expedition pops and you search for and island and a forest
you have 6 mana, and 4 of it is untapped
explosive vegetation for an island and a forest 8 mana, 2 untapped
use the last 2 on whatever you want that turn
turn 4, well youve got the mana and the idea

i just got done playing lorthos in a monoblue, and it ws amazing. i didnt drop him into REALLY late in the game, but when i did it was amazing. not only did i drop lorthos, but i also dropped a clone in the same turn! that put me with 2 8/8's and then next turn i drew Rite of Replication. kicked, that gave me a grand total of 7 8/8's on the feild at once. now THAT was a good feeling.
