Notably as with the previous invoker cycle,
this one is like his Wizard ancestor the only five-drop instead of only costing two or three mana.
But this time it's at least a more useful one.
Giving your entire creatures a temporary levitation should help you far more than spending eight mana for a giant growth on some pitious, non-flying, blue Hill Giant.
Regarding the creature type i thought Zendikar's invokers to be a certain type of Shamans instead of Mutants influenced from the Mirrari as it's the case with the old ones. But why is this one not a Shaman then? Why can't we have blue Shamans?

Not bad. All the Invokers combo well with Training Grounds.

Would be one of the worse Invokers if it weren't for the nice 3/3 Flying body. Compare this to Shepherd of the Lost. It doesn't have as great an impact on turn 5, but can be a finisher late-game, which the Shepherd has trouble doing.

Real bad attempt at a merfolk tribal. If you really wanted your merfolk to fly you would cast Levitation. What makes this card bearable is the fact that it is a 3/3 flier. Expensive creature, limited use, and over priced. 2/5

3/3 flyer on turn 5 with a temporary Levitate effect that costs twice as much as the actual enchantment. YAWN.

I hate flying merflok creatures. Feels like flying bears. For this cycle... and I hate cycles... a smaller creature would have created a higher "Ahhh!" effect, A cmc 5 card with a cmc 8 ability doesn't feel board-changing. And since he already has flying, he is the only creature in this cycle that doesn't create a bonus when this is the only creature you have in play.

It's like someone at Wizards said "Hey, let's make a shit common cycle. You know, for fun."

levitation, in other decks than blue this might have been nice.

5 for a 3/3 flier is great in Limited. His ability is more likely to go off in the slow Rise envronment than elsewhere, making it a good limited card all around.
