A bit of a sleeper card. It was designed to be very strong...outside of its own limited environment.
ROE has walls, monsters, and levelers, auras, and this has fewer targets than normal.

This was amazing in the format with Arc Trail in a deck where you want to attack with Neurok Commando early and often. Shoot some guys, beat for 2, draw a card. It's like a burn deck that cantrips.

@Edrocks006: Fire Servant says, "it deals double that damage." Nowhere on the card does it say anything about doubling targets. Therefore, you still have to choose one or two targets.
Also, given a ruling from Fire Servant, a Servant-doubled Forked Bolt would not deal 4 damage as you choose divided among up to two target creatures and/or players, but would rather deal 2 damage divided as you choose, then doubled. What this means is that you aren't doubling the damage and then dividing it, but dividing it and then doubling. You can't deal 3 damage to a target with a Servant-doubled Forked Bolt, for example.

The sorcery speed keeps this from being the ever-terrifying 'strictly better' card over shock. Still, this is a great card. Kill an X/1 and plink a player, kill an X/2, poke a player for two or (my favorite) kill two creatures and gain some card advantage. Nothing like red card advantage. I love this card to bits personally. It may lack the raw power of a lightning bolt, but its still one of my favorite burns ever.

155 reasons to use this card in standard ladies and gentlemen.
Remember, red seldom has 2 for 1 capabilities and usually run into issues where they "burn out" around the last few points of damage to close the game out. This opens up opportunities to close this gap by either 2 for 1 against certain decks and certain plays, or nuke a x/1 and deal a point of damage or kill off an x/2
I myself play red how a white or blue player would play red and this gives red intelligent damage rather than brute force or simplicity at a balanced price of options.
If this we're instant, it would be over powered as a card in general and in all control decks, they would have the chance to splash in red because they enjoy 2 for 1's. So good show wizards. Giving smart plays the chance to materialize and the players that think out of the box a chance to have more options more often.

It's cool. But a real shame it's not an instant. And it's an uncommon, seriously, why the hell not make this an instant? Anyway, any card that lets you two-for-one is good in my book.
