Vanilla creature, made playable because it is a Merfolk. There are far worse 2 drops out there... but many better ones as well.
This guy is the reverse of the Vodalian Soldiers from way back in the day.

This isn't that bad of a card, but Blue needed better in M10...It's one toughness really kills it...

why complain about this card in particular? forget everything else, this is a power=cost 2 drop for a color not known for aggressive creatures, or even efficient creatures. Keeping in mind what the color is known to do, this card is a useful 2 drop to clock while controlling the board and their spells. not great, but certainly not a disgrace. 2/5

I once played this in a draft.
Worst. Draft. Ever.

Couldn't it at least have islandwalk?

I have to say it. It's not even funny. But this thing, this abomination...
It's strictly worse than Storm Crow.

Yeah, contradicting the flavor text, this thing is pretty defenseless wherever it may be. I don't think that vanilla 2/1 blue creatures have ever been useful or wanted by anyone; The only thing this has going for it is being a Merfolk, and even that has it's limits.

@True_Smog:
we got merfolk sovereign so im pretty content
if it cost {U} then it would be pretty good and wizards would save some black ink
they could've at least given it islandwalk

SavageBrain89 and True_Mumin: both quotes of the year.
M10 is a one big middle finger to Blue players.
