@lukemol: Anyone who doesn't AT LEAST honor vintage-level bannings/restrictions in casual games probably has a special place reserved for them in Hell. ;-) Play "casual" with someone who runs four of these with four Ancestral Recall, four Time Walk and four Black Lotus? Nooooooooooooooo thanks!

tutors are just amazingly powerful. essentially allows you to have an extra chance at getting any given card, bypassing the 4-card quota. even though this is restricted in vintage, just add a vamp tutor, maybe imperial seal if you can afford it, and you've nearly doubled your chances at getting whatever you need.

@Havens:
...Why in the world would you cast this and NOT put a card into your hand? Taking any card you want from your library for only {1}{B} is way too good to pass up.

I do casual play, but I do refer to DCI Vintage list to keep things fair. This card is restricted in Vintage, not banned. I keep one copy in my vampire deck, along with another restricted copy of Vampiric Tutor. I don't have problem playing it, as some of my "casual" players I meet are hard-core collectors. Against people with decks running 10 planes walkers and 4 mind sculptors.... Some opponent decks are designed for turn 3 or 4 win combos. One of this card evens the tide a bit. I use the two tutor cards plus one copy of Doomsday for my Vampire Hexmage and Dark Depths combo. I also have an alternative win condition: Consume Spirit and Nirkana Revenant combo.

So Liliana got cursed by Kothophed after she used this spell? Awesome ^_^
Maybe they could reintroduce a cheap tutor, but put a curse-like catch on it?

I wanted this card since I started playing Magic back in 1994. Thanks to D&D, I have it now!
Also, this art helped me like Liliana and other "new-walkers".

Yeah, Dingo... It's Kothoped. Did the same artist do the comic and this card? 'Cause they look really similiar. Oh... Liliana blew Kothoped's brains out. Just thought you might like to know.
