Now that Myr are more important on Mirrodin this set of Myr cards are much better, a very decent card easily main decked

The entire new art cycle is so much worse than the old cycle.

As for the card, it's actually pretty good. They are basically creature versions of the original 2-drop coloured mana rocks. This one is fire diamond. I like it because it is an aggressive option for the mana rock. I use it in my Tajic EDH deck because it enable battalion as well as ramping him out on turn 3.
