@Bakyo: Your friend was wrong. If you copy an Ally with Rite of Replication, the token will be an Ally, and will enter the battlefield. Anything that goes from not-being-on-the-battlefield to being-on-the-battlefield enters the battlefield. The word "put" is irrelevant - it just describes what you have to do to cause the token to enter the battlefield in the first place.

Absolutely insane in the deck. When you consider the fact that Kazuul Warlord will make them 3/3's and give all your other allies (including the Warlord itself) a 2/2 permanent boost, Akoum Battlesinger giving everyone a +2/+0 boost, virtually every other Ally a 2/2 permanent boost (and with the aforementioned Warlord, making that a 4/4 boost)...the boosts can stack up insanely fast. Double triggers is a dangerous prospect; and at instant speed, it's absolutely lethal as a combat trick, turning your chump blockers into killing machines with the right support. Even the tokens themselves, with Warlord and Battlesinger out, will be 5/3's when they hit the board. Two 5/3's, boosting everyone +4/+2, for 4 mana.

I would never have thought that a card which produced two tiny tokens for four mana could amaze me that much.

Instant speed, ladies and gentlemen! As DonRoyale already pointed out, this is an insane combat trick. Of course your opponent will know what's going to happen when you leave four mana open, but getting twice the amount of triggers for each ally card on your side when you cast this spell is simply insane!

I wasn't that impressed by Allies when i first saw them in Zendikar, but along with Worldwake's Allies this starts to get interesting. And there's still Rise of the Eldrazi to come.

@kronos539

Yes, quadrouple lifelink is impressive, but it doesn't anything that regular lifelink wouldn't do.
From the comprehensive rules: (sorry for being a rule-junkie)

"702.13e Multiple instances of lifelink on the same object are redundant."

But you are certainly right that this card is not to be underestimated!

RoE won't have allys. It has been stated that, although considered part of the same block, RoE and WWK/ZEN will have totally different mechanics and will not be drafted together.

Rise of Eldrazi will be a large set with independent themes.

One thing interesting is that during 2010, for few months, standard will have simultaneously 2 core sets (2010 and 2011), 3 additional large sets AND 3 small sets. Normally T2 environment would have been 2 large sets, 4 small sets and a single core, 2010 standard will feel extendish for a while.

just so i can be sure i have this right, if i have out a ondu cleric, a Hagra Diabolist, and a greypelt hunter, this card would cause me to gain 9 life, and my opponent to lose 9 (4 when one enters, and 5 when the other one does) right?

the naysayers here are either taking it out of context (ally decks), failing to do the math, or both. here's some *small scale* examples:

Halimar Excavator + Jwari Shapeshifter + Join the Ranks = 21 cards milled
Ondu Cleric + Hagra Diabolist + Join the Ranks = 11 life gain & 10 life loss
Talus Paladin + Jwari Shapeshifter + Join the Ranks = 4x lifelink for each attacker until end of turn

those are pretty big numbers for "just" putting 2 blockers into play instantly with only 2 other allies in play... Join the Ranks is my win condition in at least a 3rd of my ally deck games. bow down before it!

Tries to combine combat tricks with token creation. And this makes it rather boring and weak.
I would have preferred a sorcery for 3 mana or some sort of condition bonus. It's as useless as putting 2 Kithkins into play for cmc 4. And if they need combat tricks with allies... they could have reprinted Ghostway.

Allys are just great Join the Ranks being an instant can make what would spell your doom during you opponents attack phase i.e useing overrun by tripping all the Allys during your opponents turn twice since it drops 2 Ally tokens and if you had Kabira Evangel in play, thats 2 colors for each one your Allys are protected from, plus all the Allys that get bigger so you could cream you opponent even with an overrun.
