Evidently Gemblades are ten-a-penny. Anyway, I run this in my U/G Infect deck, where I can proliferate the counters this puts on a creature afterwards.

Found that the one quest counter requirement worked out very well as a way to get past blockers. Worked out well when I dropped Vines of Vastwood twice kicked and Primal Bellow. Can't wait to Giant Growth or Might of Alara a Borderland Ranger after I've hit Harrow with this in play.

This seems like a ridiculously easy way to slap four powerup counters on a creature, unless I'm reading it wrong. Be that as it may, if I can get ahold of this, I will probably play it.

This, and Blightwidow won me a game after getting hit by Emrakul, The Aeons Torn! (True story)
I had two of these, and my Blightwidow with totem armour and six other permanents. Swung at by Emrakul (who was happily bullying the game, a three-way multiplayer), keep the spider, these two and the totem armour, then block with the spider, losing the totem.
My go? He had no blockers, and I hadn't even poisoned the bugger yet. Sacced the two of these to Blightwidow for eight +1/+1 counters, and 10 poison counters was his. He shook my hand right then and there. Best moment of my MTG career!

I love how this Card gives Green a form of Evasion, by making your opponent not want to block your creatures.

@Temple_Garden
The idea is that people won't want to block when this is on the field.
And what do I care if they waste a removal spell on my Elvish Visionary so they can have card advantage.
It just means they won't be using it on something better.
Card advantage isn't always the best way to go.

While this card does suffer from the aura curse, as soon as it has a counter on it, it can just sit there, waiting to be used in response to removal by damage. An added plus: if there are no counters on it, your opponent might not want to block your creature, even with, say, a Wall of Denial, knowing that he'd add a counter on that thing.
Great in limited, ok in casual or EDH, but not so sure for constructed.

If damage still went on the stack, this card would be ludicrous. In the same vein, it's probably great with first-strikers...or double strikers? :)

It's hard to tell, but they're actually looking for infect creatures like Plague Stinger, opponents hesitant to block? Tangle Angler
