This aura just makes me smile. It has to be one of the cheapest ways to turn a creature into an immediate, game winning threat. Really fun to take advantage of with certain creatures. Here are some that I've come across.
Cephalid Constable, Skyhunter Skirmisher(HAHAHAHAHA!!!), Needle Specter, Evershrike, Plaxcaster Frogling(or anything with graft/modular), Darksteel Myr, Spikeshot Elder or Spikeshot Goblin, Feral Animist, Serra Ascendant, Ummmm... Mistfolk???
Even with the "aura" card disadvantage this one always tempts me. It really can be an unexpected punch to the face in many casual decks (that have green...). Not a big fan of the kicker ability (Better with than without though). Anyways, my hat is off to wizards for making this one.

The most useful tactic I've found with this card, is combining it with Timbermaw Larva. That wimpy 2/2 beast that gains an additional +1/+1 for each forest you control when attacking can now stand a little bit of punishment as an 8/8 beast with trample that gets an additional +1/+1 for each forest you control when attacking. It makes a considerable endgame factor when you're swinging with four of these babies in a landfall/mana accel deck that are each pushing 40/40 a piece each with trample backing them.

Protean Hydra. An 8/8 Trampler with X +1/+1 counters. Deadly.
I wouldn't call it my first choice for the Hydra, with Totem armor enchants out there, but still pretty amazing.

An excellent card, owing to its versatility. A lot of people seem to undervalue the kicker. Sure, it's almost never worth it to save the copy in your hand waiting for 9 mana (unlike, say, Tooth and Nail), but that's not what the kicker is for. Having that option makes the card a great late-game topdeck, when the game is drawn out and the battlefield clogged. It provides immediate card advantage by doubing itself, giving you an extra 8/8 trampler for mana that would otherwise be left unused.

Only Aura spells actually target the creature; Aura permanents don't. Since you're putting the second one straight onto the field, it isn't a spell, and since it's not an Aura spell it doesn't actually "target" the creature. It doesn't count as targeting unless the card or the rules say that doing that counts as targeting.

Should put it on something more ridiculous, such as Silhana Ledgewalker or Slippery Bogle. First one recommended since there will be less blockers able to stop it.
You can't give trollshroud to anything but you can give anything to trollshroud. Mix red or white to give it double strike or blue for unblockable and what not?
