When I look at a card I ask myself how this is going to help me put an end to my opponent. This is not an offensive threat. It doesn't give me card advantage, in fact it does the opposite. Defensively it's not that hot either, the cost to regenerate is too high. Pay a mana, tap, AND discard? I'd rather just play creatures that can regen themselves, or find another way to regenerate my creatures that is more efficient and much easier to abuse with some sort of combo. Tapping and discarding I find to be expensive costs to pay (unless of course your deck is built around discarding) and to only gain the benefit of regenerating 1 creature, well.... Ya, it's a junk common. Compare this to something like Yavimaya Hollow or Regeneration, both of those are much, much better than this.

I dont get whats so bad about it (besides the art) later in the game if it drags out and you have extra cards you can regenerate something also use it with reasembling skeleton and spells with flash back

Lame ability, and a little behind the power curve.
Probably decent in drafts, but Masques was considered a weak set precisely because of cards like this.
