Try Shimmering Grotto if you need a budget five colour land that bad. Otherwise, there's better choices.

Homelands's tri-lands should have taught WotC that players weren't going to pay 2 and a tap for 1 colored mana.

@AchillesElbow
Colorless general means you cannot use any land that has a colored mana symbol on it. Thus, useful for Eldrazi General or Karn. You are not permitted to use basics. This card's second ability is irrelevant.

All around jank. I play an EDH Kozi, though. I use it. I think I would pick even tarnished citadel over this any other time.

Apparently WotC didn't get the memo back when they printed School of the Unseen: only the truly desperate will tie down three lands just to get one mana of a color of their choice.

Ugn. Every time I see a land like this I gag a little. Even assuming a multicolor deck, your chances of drawing a land of the color you need are just as good as drawing this sad little thing. By the time you can afford to blow two mana on making one mana, you probably have a good variety of lands out anyway, and before that point you're just crippling yourself. You'd need to be running some sort of crazy every color ever deck to make this and all its friends remotely feasible.

@GradiustheFox

or an EDH deck with Karn or *shudder* an eldrazi as its general..

in those cases this is one of the few land that will work in this deck

Many, many years ago, I found a small box filled with Magic cards (~80). I thought i made it; sadly, about half of those cards were crappy commons, aside from a couple Soul Links and Squee's Embraces, and the other half were like 10 of these and 20 Martyrs' Tomb.
I'm starting to think that the previous owner should've been really happy to have gotten rid of those turds.

@Havens: But why would you need colored mana in a colorless EDH deck? Unless you were running a lot of stuff with Sunburst.
