I'm not sure why so many people can't figure out the meaning of the word "another". This isn't the first time it's appeared on a card.

As for the card, honestly there's plenty of decks where I'd pay the extra Red for instant speed Fireball alone, let alone the unsplit damage. I'll admit you really need to play with it and get a feel for what you can actually do when you cast it to figure out what's going on, though.

You cannot re-target on the same creature for each kicker. Read: "then choose ANOTHER target creature or player..."

@Sidek
If that were possible then 11 mana would win you the game at instant speed. Try doing that with a Fireball.

2+X+K. 1+K targets EACH take X damage. If you wanted to yet rid of three Baneslayer Angels, you would tap nine; two to cast, X would be 5, the damage you want to deal, and K would be 2, for the two additional Baneslayers.

For all those people wondering whether or not you can target the same player/creature over and over, I just went ahead and asked the powers that be (Wizards) by email if it was possible, and they clearly said that 'another' meant 'not the same.' Therefore, only all different targets for Comet Storm. Sorry, guys.

No ruling necessary. It clearly says "another" target. That is, one other than the first.
