This card is pretty interesting... back when I started playing magic I saw this and I was like "riiiiiite, guy draws 3, big deal, gimme four". It's one of those cards you can only fully understand after playing a while, sort of like Necropotence.

I have delved so deep into Gatherer and just now noticed this guy for the first time. I was already using Shah of Naar Isle and Browbeat to activate mean Runeflare Traps and Molten Psyches and now I have another card to abuse with them.

These are the cornerstone of my pure-blue "big beastie conjuring" deck. Its drawback is obvious and, well, pretty serious. Three cards for each opponent is a lot, especially in early game.
But it's *massive*. It's 3 mana for a 4/4 flying. That means you can attack 'em for four on the fourth turn. Better yet, put an Unstable Mutation on it and you can attack 'em for SEVEN on the fourth turn. Put TWO Unstable Mutations on and, well, you get the idea.
Unless they blast it with one of the cards *you* let them draw ;)

Ofcourse, your opponent would have to be able to play those drawn cards for them to be worth anything- this guy loves counter decks, discard decks, and hand overload decks. Since his CMC is legit, a 4/4 flyer is well worth the "set-back" ability, which put in the appropriate deck, is hardly a set back.

i ran 4 of these in my blue deck without flinching. only really hurt me 1/3 or or so games board lock down+ counter magic (when Counterspell was still in print) FTW.

Seems like a gamble to me. Good if your lucky i suppose. Or if you want them to draw for some reason, maybe to deck out, but it says "may" draw so thats not relaible.
