Now how does this effect things like a charged Bloodchief Ascension? Does the sacrificed permanent still hit the graveyard triggering the Ascension? Or does it immediately come under your control after the sacrifice?

The coolest looking Eldrazi by far.

The art definitely embodies the atmosfere when It Thet Betrays enters the battlefield: "Come to the daddy, my sweet adopted fetchie & co.!"

I used this bad boy in a casual deck. 1st turn was land then played Fyndhorn Elves. 2nd turn was play land, tap two for survival of the fittest and searched for Elvish Piper with Fyndhorn's mana. Turn three played another land and the Piper and turn four searched for this guy and played him with the Piper. Yeah it was not long before it was GG.

Fun in EDH. Since EDH is slow and you get to the point of 10-20 lands mid-late game this guy just adds fun to the game (not to your opponents)

Want to get thrown out of a multiplayer game? Reanimate this and then cast Barter in Blood.

I love this guy. He's one of my all-time favorite reanimation targets. The fact that you can reanimate him makes him better than Emrakul, Kozilek, and Ulamog, IMO. Plus, his name, art, and flavor are epic-- you really get the sense that he is a world-destroying abomination. 5/5 stars from me.
