Amazing in the right deck.

For example: I drop this on the play, then discard anger and kill your birds of paradise or whatever on turn 2. Now all my creatures have haste and my opponent lost massive momentum. Discarding will always be beneficial to any deck that runs this.

Underpowered by today's standards but i always liked the art for some reason.

Neat, a pretty good RB madness enabler...

Use Grim Lavamancer.

If you need someone cheap in dealing something threatening and weak (Scute Mob etc) in the early game before three lands are out, she and some one-mana cost instants are your answer.

Kinda sucky considering red can drop much better things on turn 1. Plus Prodigal Pyromancer only costs {2} more for the same thing without the mana+discard cost. Not to mention there's better discard engines for madness/hellbent.

Seems like it would make a neat gift if you know someone named Kris.

At least, that's what I plan on using mine for.

I love the little teasing bit of bare leg... I'm a hundred miles away and still you draw blood from my throat you delicious little permed strumpet of death you...

Would've been epoch-defining if they didn't wuss out on the original concept and they made her turn discarded cards into Shocks; she's still useful tech, but not a bomb like Grim Lavamancer.
