I would like to see wizards of the coast build this cards theme into a planeswalker. Rubinia Soulsinger is a very unique card.

How is Merieke better? Merike's colors are not conducive to a good ramp like Rubinia's colors. To use Merieke well you need some sort of untap source or it's one tap while it's out and no more stealing.

Rubina is such a great Commander. Throw on a Lightning Greaves so only mass removal will wipe this creature out and you're golden. Also have some sac sources to prevent your opponent from getting their creature back...
