There is no "obvious misunderstanding" in the oracle text, and it didn't change how the card works.
Back in Legends, cards referring to themselves often left out a wor of the title for no apparent reason. SeeBrine Hag - "during which Hag is placed".
If the intention had been to make this affect all Kithkin, the text according to the old templating would be "to block any Kithkin.

The oracle text totally changes the functionality of this card! I can no longer have it sneak past my opponents army of smart a-sses
(sorry, i would have autocarded it... but you all know how that works... damn filter!)

If you read her ability carefully it actually prevents any creatures with power 3 or higher from blocking ANY Kithkin.
haha, Ya it's funny how they have really been thoughtful of the wordings of cards these days. I think one card that was errata'd right after the release of Scars of Mirrodin was Glint Hawk Idol. A guy pointed that out.

Amrou Kithkin --> To my understanding, without the 'Oracles' obvious misconception, this cards ability refers to ANY Kithkin, not just Amrou Kithkin, despite Amrou Kithkin being the first ever kithkin created. I have used it in a number of melees in the Gaming Club I am in with no question. If what the Oracle says is right, then why did they not reprint the card to have it "Say what it means NOT mean what it says"????

A Storm Crow could stop an Amrou Kithkin.

"I played my kithkin tribal deck today."
"How was the game?"
"Short."
