A situationally playable creature from The Dark for sideboard? Sure, why the hell not? Like the flexibility here. Two damage for a 4/4 they can't block? Deal. 5 CMC for a 4/4 wasn't that bad by the standards of the day in any case.

If he were a dog, he could win the next World's Ugliest Dog competition.
I highly doubt he'll get a Treefolk Hound errata though.
Treefolk Horror, maybe.

The artwork, while simple, draws you in... it looks very realistic in the sense that you are focusing on the treefolk and the trees behind him are out of focus. Jesper had a very keen sense of artistic style here.

Man. This guy is terrible.
His abilities with a healing effect might have been kind of ok.

TANGENT ahead!
5/5 for art. 2 damage or not, those were highly relevant abilities at the time of print...plenty of us had our tickets punched that way.
