Volcanic Hammer was, sadly, good enough for quite come time. This is just another hammer. It's no bolt, but it's not awful.

Decent for its time. I suppouse you could still run it if you wanted but you could also just as easily run a Volcanic Hammer.

Sadly this card suffers from being from a less popular set in addition to being out trumped recently by lightning bolt's return to standard play.

searing spear didn't come out till M2013 , till then cards like this were pretty good. I like it because it shows power creep over time.
