Great Goblin card, quite cheap and useful in Goblin deck however I wonder why it's CMC is 1 higher then Lord of Atlantis since in my opinion islandwalk is better (found that more people play blue or part blue decks, now everybody likes to counterspell, eh?)

the flavour text is basically the same as that from the reprint version these days. although the the new one is more humorous than this one. ;)

Yes I do prefer the newer flavor text over this printing, the Lord of Lords, being the last of the original Lords to still be in print...the original lords were good, but symetrical and dependent on colors, while newer lords are asymetrical and do not focus on landwalk so much...

Strange, he doesn't quite look like David Bowie...

Note that he has 'Goblin' in his type-line. He's not supposed to give himself the bonuses, yet with this wording he does.

Art wise, I like him the best of the 3, even tho he looks least like a king, 6th edition is a close 2nd & the newest 1 is, meh..

@A3Kitsune: Actually, from what I've heard about the rules during the Alpha/Beta/Revised era, a creature's type line was its type. Thus, Gaea's Liege was considered to be a "Gaea's Liege" but not a "Liege", Uncle Istvan was considered an "Uncle Istvan" but not an "Uncle" nor and "Istvan", and so on.
THE MORE YOU KNOW.

There were only x2 goblins that this guy could pump up back in alpha. Also its messy, because it looks like he pumps himself up. I'm sure this was explained in some kind of rulebook that he does not.

Then: 4 Goblin Kings out, all 2/2.
Now: 4 Goblin Kings out, all 5/5 mountainwalkers.
