Not a lot of Starter '99 floating around, and this card only exists in that set. As a result, this is worth about $15 at present. I was surprised to discover this, so that's why I'm sharing.

This is not below the curve. Far from it. Acidic Slime is a useful creature, but 5 mana is a lot for some formats, and other 4 mana options like Avalanche Riders have an ability that is a drawback for a lot of decks (Echo), except for Living End or Momentary Blink decks. This is goblin tribal, which matters for Goblin Lackey and Warren Instigator, and is absolutely cruel in a Heartless Summonning deck with Havengul Lich.

C'mon, they can reprint this. It's not like it's some card that's so overpowered they can never print it again (IE any given Power Nine card) It's only worth so much because there aren't that many left
