Beavis and Butthead say: "heh heh.. a nus."

Actually, when you compare this with the other, more recent golems like Phyrexian Hulk (+1/-2 for same CMC) or Hexplate Golem ({1} more for +1/+1), this guys holds up surprisingly well. And Razorfield Thresher is 6/4 for {7}.

Beats a stormcrow, and can go into any deck, but does cost more to reflect this.

Um, wurmcoil engine just seems a little little bit powercreeped over this.

...or as everyone who ever saw it pronounced it..."Obsinius Golem."

Not bad.

@longwinded: Well observed :D
Then again, you're comparing him to junk draft commons and not the powercreeped artifact creatures like Wurmcoil Engine Etched Monstrosity, Steel Hellkite or Thopter Assembly. Aside from Wurmcoil Engine, they aren't directly comparable since it they aren't 4/6 and not uncommon (which is a stupid excuse though), but i'd gladly play them over this dude anytime.
Phyrexian Juggernaut seems like a more interesting uncommon, too. (Again, not really comparable since it's 5/5, designed for infect decks and forced to attack)

This guy saw some play because he couldn't be Terrored. He could still be shattered, but still, not terrible.

The fact that this guy is is an uncommon reflects some level of power creep, but for a power creep of a single rarity over the course of a bit less than 20 years is alright to me.
