People, he's a 6/6 Blue creature for 6 CMC, very rare trait for blue to have, and he has natural counterspell protection against those meant him harm. The Lock-Down ability to me is a bonus, a REAL beneficial ability that can cost your opponents the game. He can even lock down Primeval Titan as well as the other Titanic counter parts. And don't forget, he's not on his own, especially as blue, you can counter spells that may otherwise send him into the graveyard.

So to you people who compare him with the other titans and underestimate him, please don't, he's designed to have a specific role in penerating your opponent's defense, he has protection AND an arsenal to freeze your opponent's threatening creatures.

At first I thought he was terrible, but then realized that in Titan wars, this guy wins. In fact he can't lose, short of expensive removal, because he other Titan just never gets to untap. Generally solid (c'mon, he's a 6/6 for 6 with 2 great abilities) and situationally brilliant. 4.5/5.

@TheGodOfWar91

Close. Tom Lapille, one of the Magic 2011 design team, has stated that the first iteration of this Titan kept two target permanents from untapping next turn, but it didn't tap them. This confused several people, so it was changed to tap and freeze a single target.

Also, this Titan was tried with Shroud, turns out being impossible to target with removal made him too strong.

The titans really don't compare to eachother, because blue doesn't want to do what green wants to do and etc. In a mostly blue deck having lots of land is usually meh, and lightning bolting something is nice but not what blue is about. I played this frost titan at prerelease (opened it in a booster), and other than one game against a group of reassembling skeletons, he won me every game.

Frost titan taps one thing, then you aether adept the next biggest threat, and you can keep the field pretty well locked down like that. He is the only titan that stops other titans, essentially the anti titan, titan. Also his other ability to make kill spells cost extra seems suspect.. until you realize its really good for mana leak and soft counter spells like spell pierce. Spell pierce becomes a pseudo mana leak, and mana leak makes your opponent pay an extra 5. Also great for royal assassin in blue black, you tap any creature, royal assassin sends it to the graveyard.. good times. He also... (see all)

Vindicate: Not just for destroying permanents anymore? Frosty still isn't considered the strongest titan, but he seems to be getting the most play thanks to a certain planeswalker sharing his color...

This guy is a really, really good card. First of all, IT'S BLUE! A 6/6 blue creature? That's rare (mythic to be exact lol). Paying 6 total mana for a big blue creature is nice, but Frost Titan is flavorful as well.
Lately, Wizards has really stressed the slowing-down of games as part of the control strategy. It's not about just countering and bouncing anymore now that control can have a board presence due to tapping all of their opponents' permanents.

Frost Titan can be the best of the Titans if used in the proper deck. While the other Titans have more direct abilities, Frost Titan is an enabler. He enters the battlefield: tap your control artifacts. Next turn, he attacks: tap your defending creatures so you can't block my fatal swing. And if you try to kill him, he has natural evasion. However, the only reason I wouldn't give him a total 5 stars is because playing any type of spell to answer a creature (doom blade, pacifism, go for the throat, condemn...) are SO CHEAP and an extra 2 ... Yeah I definitely underestimated this guy... He's a total bomb for a creature, something which blue has been lacking for some time aside from Sphinx of Jwar Isle. This guy just doesn't appear to be as good as the other titans when you first look at him, but after playing against him I can safely say he dominates Inferno Titan, Probably better than Sun Titan, Not sure about Grave Titan, and well.. Primeval Titan is just kind of a wtf were they thinking?! I like this guy.

I really like this guy. he's hard to get rid of, AND he can tapout a baneslayer. I also forgot to mention this, but if you think about it, this guy may be the best of the titans, for DEALING with titans. If you think about it, all the other titans effects trigger when they come into play or attack, so if you can get this guy on the field, you can stop your opponent from getting 2 extra lands a turn, or bringing back cmc3 cards from the graveyard, or even putting 2 2/2 tokens into play. This guy is, and will probably always remain to be, MY favorite titan.
