The "creatures that benefit from spells played" decks are really fun. I'm glad WotC is printing more and more cards like this one. Both Kiln Fiend and this guy have their own advantages, but why not play both? They fit into different parts of the mana curve and will only make those decks better. This card will fill the slot of Wee Dragonauts for standard decks and possibly even replace it in extended decks (but that's a different deck anyway).
The best thing about cards like this and Kiln Fiend is they create really competitive budget decks.

Unlike Kiln Fiend however, you can just use the ping effect of a Prodigal Pyromancer to buff him every turn. Could have awesome power with Gelectrode.
