Oracle says "You untap all creatures, control all creatures, and give all creatures Haste."
The card says that too. It's haters that try to add new words like "the ones that were untapped". "Them" refers to "all creatures". It can't refer to "untap" because "untap" is a verb. To make your poor use of grammar more obvious, you're trying to say "Gain control of untap all creatures". No. That makes no sense.

When this resolves it's usually game over. Absolutely crazy for multiplayer, but I wouldn't play it in a duel.

I LOVE this card for it's whup-your-rear ability, but everytime I play it, there's an argument about it that usually ends with with the group ganging up on me and voting to ignore that card because it's a 'grey area' that can't be figured out.
I read the card as "untap (if they were untapped) and GAIN CONTROL of ALL CREATURES". They gain haste til end of turn. But my play group reads it as "UNTAP and gain control of all creature (meaning only gain control of creatures that were tapped)" But if that were the case, then creatures like Cloudchaser Eagle can't be played if there are NO enchantments in play.
I think the only reason some people try to argue against the card is because they have been on the recieveing end of it and desperatly want the rules to be on there side and shoot the card down. Sad.

You gain control of ALL creatures on the battlefield (unless something specifically prevents it) and if there are any that ARE tapped you untap them. All creatures gain haste and you can attack with them. This card doesnt seem to target anything, you simply gain control of every creature in play and can attack with them.

Ok My brother and I are having an issue with the interpretation of this card. He used this card to finish off my friend and I in one fell swoop and I declared fool play on his ruling and it has turned ugly. OK his interpretation is that it Untaps ALL tapped creatures (which there was none) then takes control of all creatures and gives them haste so he can use them ALL for a coup-de-gra manuver. What I read in the card was this... Untap all creatures and gain control of THEM until end of turn, meaning you gain control of the untapped creatures being that they are the focus of the cards power not every creature on the battlefield. Break this down into steps 1: Untap all Creatures (untap those that were tapped) 2: Gain control of those (them---from the card) that became untapped 3:Give them haste and voila end game If his interpretation was right the wording needs to be changed to "Untap all creatures, Gain control of all Creatures and give them Haste until end of turn"/... (see all)

I agree with the person who says you only gain control of creatures that were tapped when you play the card. Read the card. That's what is says. "Untap all creatures and gain control of THEM...meaning the creatures that were tapped.
Has WOTC issued some statement somewhere in the FAQ about how this card actually works?
