Underrated, to be sure. This is like a detonate and a disenchant rolled into one package, with the added bonus that you can, as mentioned above, blow up your own gear to take out a creature.

Best way to look at this is disenchant that costs 1 more mana, but has the option at 1 more red mana to burn a creature too.
