Synergy with Precursor Golem, albeit risky.

I absolutely adore this guy. He's got a big punch and he's also got the added benefit of not coming into play tapped, meaning you can tap him for man or use him as a defender on the turn he comes out. My absolute most favorite land in a long while!

At its worst, its a Mana you can use to play something else. At its best, Its a swinger for 4 that can also block and kill most early-game creatures. It also has the psychological effect of the opponnent never knowing whether he should attack, since he knows you have a nigh-upon untouchable blocker waiting there.

Also, so long as you didn't play the Manland THAT turn, it does NOT suffer summoning sickness.

Great card idea, I just hate how it's 4 mana for a 4/2 until end of turn. even 4/3 would have been cool, or 5/2 if they really wanna give a land such low toughness.

Oh people this guy is soo good for real. I play casually and I have a playset of Mishra's Factory and 2 Celestial Collonade in my control deck, so I don't run this guy, but my buddy runs 2 or 3 all the time and they seriously work so good. I've played with them a couple times a while back, and they always came through. the fact that you don't have to sacrifice the land like Gargoyle Castle, or that it stays as a creature permanently like Stalking Stones makes this soo good. You can Wrath of God/Day of Judgment and then attack, and usually you'll have the mana when you're running the long game of Control. And it's out of reach of sorcery speed removal or aura's. And the 4 power is just huge. Stalking Stones is just too weak for a huge cost, and Gargoyle Castle loses the ability to add mana if you need it. This guy is a beautiful medium. Great card, and excellent in Standard.

Forget Precursor Golem. This card has awesome synergy with Blade Splicer, Master Splicer, Maul Splicer and the rest of the Splicers. And it's still Standard-legal for a few more months.

I do love my manlands, and this guy is no exception. Not coming into play tapped, always being colorless, and having epic flavor puts him on the top of my list. Lot of fun, definitely worth a play.

A solid, fair manland. I like the art on it. The numbers make it a little weak, but it's still a nice manland that is easy to obtain.

Thing about these kinds of cards is that even if you don't animate it even once, it only took a land slot, and made it colourless. Non-basic lands aren't there to be amazingly powerful, they are there to grant options without taking slots in your deck.

4.5/5 because it's balanced and cool.

Perfect land to stick x4 in a mono deck, assuming your not taking advantage of all basic land strat.
