Island has always been pronounced iland, it derives from Germanic roots, not the Latin insula. The spelling was modified because it was mistakenly believed to be related to the word isle.

Two of these plus Time Walk makes a three-card combo. SO BROKEN. It can't even be Shattered - it's even more broken than Mox Sapphire.
