So don't treat them as vampires, treat them as a part of a black metalcraft deck.

Wizards certainly hasn't forgotten about vampires - I don't know if you've noticed, but they've been a strong tribal deck all to themselves in the meta for the past couple of years. And they were one of the primary races, and received all the support that comes with that, in Zendikar. If they print some mediocre vampires in the next world to make room for that world's theme - artifacts - then it seems pretty fair to me. =p

This is a Soul Feast, plus a Zombie Goliath all-in-one. Those cards have a combined casting cost of 10 mana, and you get both for only five mana. If it was a normal card without metalcraft, but the same abilities, I would say it is worth 7 mana. A good deal. The higher cast cost allows time to collect artifacts and it works well with dark ritual. Overall, a good card.

This ranks up there with Culling Dais as the most overlooked cards in Scars thus far. Really awesome in a deck that can abuse Black creature destroy, and a variety of artifacts of course. I have a friend that plays these in a blowfly infestation deck. Sure make it hard to get around. Not always worth a playset in a deck, but can really hurt when they drop.

The Mephidross Vampire was considered the evolutionary peak for vampires, these guys are on their way to having scythe arms that drain blood with a swipe.

Take two vanilla cards, Soul Feast and Zombie Goliath. Throw in metal craft condition and you have a seldom used junk card, which also ends up being rated lower then feast.

This and Skinrender are deadly when mixed into a Mimic Vat. A friend of mine placed first in a launch party with that combo-ish awesomeness.

They don't go well with infect ideology, that's for sure. Another member of infectless black.

And yeah, that art got no class. Mephidross Vampire techno-nosferatu flavor was great for mirrodin, that one is kinda tasteless.

Thats enough with Vampires, wotc. Lets get some Dwarves now!
I don't like how they changed the style of mirrodin vampires either, but if it was to be a mirran, then I guess it can't have a nim-ish look like the only vampire in the last mirroblock. But why would vampires be mirrans anyway? they have to kill other humanoids to survive, so it would have made much more sense if they were the enemy. I understand why Zendivamps sided against the eldrazi invasion but Mirrovamps should totally be like "WE MUST BE COMPLEAT, EVERYTHING MUST BE COMPLEAT" and "Glory to Yawgmoth, father of machines!" and "My life for Auir!... I mean... Ner'Zhul!..."
